About Us
GOWELL'S HOME MADE CANDY is a second-generation, family-owned and operated business. Established in November, 1959 by Richard and Evelyn Gowell, the business has grown for 50
years and is now being run by Richard Jr. Our chocolates are manufactured on the premises at 727 North Main Street in Brockton, Massachusetts. This is our one and only location.
We have approximately 10 employees, all of which are very loyal. Two of our women have been with us for over 30 years and all of our high school students stay until graduation and come back at the holidays while attending college.
At GOWELLS HOME MADE CANDY, custom orders are always welcome. We try our best to accomodate any request and will recommend alternative ideas when necessary. Shoppng at Gowell's is also unique. Approximately 90 percent of our chocolate assortments are hand selected by our patrons ensuring that their confections are exactly what they want and like.
The most important promise we offer to our customers is that they are always right. We are proud of our outstanding customer service. Our reputation of reliable service and qualty products has 3rd and 4th generation family members continuously shopping with us.
Our Candy
All of our cand is made the old fashioned way...in small batches. The candy centers are made using the finest ingredients and are cooked in copper kettles over open-flame stoves while
being hand mixed. The candy centers are then covered in either milk, dark, or white chocolate and hand packaged in various sized boxes. Maintaining a strong attention to detail and refusing to settles for anything but the best allows us to continue providing the quality and freshness we demand!
Richard Gowell, Jr. is our candy maker. He does it all! He is the second generation and uses family recipies created by his father.
